Thao Nhi Do
A Long Dream
Will I see you again?
On that day will there still be pain?
I remember when winter came
Snow covered your hometown
With gale winds from white clouds
Will you look into my eyes again?
A pair of emeralds shining with passion
I remember when spring came
Your smile warmed the whole town
With sunshine from the blue sky
Will you write to me again?
Letters poured from your intellectual mind
I remember when summer came
My July was filled with your words
I danced silently on the way home
Will I walk with you again?
Cozy conversations before sunset
I remember when fall came
Words of goodbye were uttered
I walked home with your ghosts
I wake from a long dream
My mind is sober
As if it never knew how
My heart is peaceful
As if it never knew peace
I open my eyes
To see your soul still carry a part of mine
Our lives pass by
Leaving traces of warmth behind…
Another summer’s come.
