Fatherhood

Little hands and feet
Soft, smooth skin
Innocent eyes,
Sudden laughter
As I spray her with water
My adorable daughter.
Papa, papa she calls
Down come all the walls.
What greater pleasure
Could I have but to allow,
The flow of fatherhood
To flourish
Within me,
And make me more than a man
A Father.
To this little being,
I had a part in creating
To love, protect and nurture,
To have and hold,
For better or worse,
From this day onwards.
