Editors' Note

This issue - No. 4 - was put together while Singapore was making a name for itself, world-wide, as a lightning capital - thanks to a photo by Darren Soh that went viral. But it also seemed appropriate to call it our Thunder/Tempest issue, because all of the works featured in it have a certain dark, enigmatic and electrifiying quality. To explain lightning is reductive; can the words "sudden electrostatic discharge" ever come close to the unexpected sublimity of it? Likewise, any attempt to sum up this powerful crop of poetry, prose and art we have for you is as fruitless as flying kites attached to keys after the storm is over. We invite you to start reading.
